OLDSKOOL CHARTERLEAGUE WORLD CUP 2010

E-mail your selection to charterleague@mail.com or alternatively post your selection on the CHARTERLEAGUE FORUM.

1.    Oldskool Charterleague World Cup will cost £10 to play for the 2010 competition.

2.    Prize money will be divided roughly 66% / 33% between 1st / 2nd places in each competition.  All entry money will go directly into the prize pool.

3.    All players must predict the scoreline of each of the 64 World Cup fixtures.  Players are advised to initially submit predictions in 16 game blocks.

4.    Selections will be valid if received by kick off time.

5.    You can change your selection as long as it is before kick off time.  If your selection is late, it will be invalid (no exceptions).  Late selections will revert in a zero score for that game with a minus five goal difference.  Similarly, if no selection is made, the player will score zero for that game with a minus five goal difference.

6.    SCORING - Players will receive 3 points for every correctly predicted scoreline.  Players will receive one point whenever they get a scoreline wrong, but the match result matches their prediction.  i.e. The player thought South Africa would win 3-0 and they actually won 2-1 etc...  Players will have their goal difference penalised by every goal they are away from the correct score, so in the previous example, the player's goal difference would be minus two for being two goals out with their prediction.

7.    League competition places will be determined by points firstly and goal difference secondly.

8.    Only goals before full time will count.  Extra time goals DO NOT count.

9.    If Charterleague makes an official decision about any incident that any player objects to then the ultimate decision will be made via a vote by all players excluding myself and the players directly involved in the dispute.  If a conclusion cannot be made from this then I will cast the deciding vote.  Any decision made from this course of events will be final.

10.    100% of all received application money goes into the prize fund.  Charterleague has no desire to generate any profit from this competition for this World Cup.

11.    Any player that is expelled from the Charterleague will receive the amount of application money back that they could have gained back at the time of expulsion.  Charterleague will be very unlikely to allow that player to play again in the future, as expulsion will always be a last resort and will only be expected to take place in extreme circumstances.

12.    Players are advised to make their selection as early as possible.  If "angelfire"* is down (although unlikely), the Charterleague will not be responsible for this and although selections can be made via text message to 07963218530, players must take full responsibility for their selections.  Charterleague is of the thinking that if players care enough about making their selection, then they will make sure it has been officially recognised.  Charterleague advises its players to make their selection by the day before the game to avoid such issues.  Remember, it's meant to be fun!

13.    Charterleague cannot be held responsible if selections are not made by the suggested methods.  These being charterleague@mail.com or by text message to 07963218530.  Selections can be revised if the player can prove in a definite fashion that they made every attempt to select via these methods.
