Key -

Charterleague Cheltenham = The entire game.

Charterleague = The organisers of Charterleague Cheltenham.

2010 Cheltenham Festival = The real life sporting event comprising of 27 national hunt horse races over 4 days to be held at Cheltenham racecourse.

Players = People who have registered to play in the Charterleague Cheltenham competition.

Race = Real horse race.
Selection = The horse that a player selects.

I / me = Chris Hasler.

1.    Charterleague Cheltenham will cost £5 to play for the 2010 Cheltenham Festival.

2.    Prize money will be divided roughly 66% / 33% between 1st / 2nd places in each competition.  All entry money will go directly into the prize pool.

3.    Players must select one horse from each of the 27 races.  Runners will be available from around two days before the race.

4.    All players must make selections for each race before the race goes off.  Players will be encouraged to submit their selections for the whole day before the first race of the day.

5.    Selections will be valid if received by race off time.

6.    You can change your selection as long as it is before race off time.  If your selection is late, it will be invalid (no exceptions).  Late selections will score zero points.

7.    Points will be distributed accordingly.  Should your horse finish 1st, you will receive 10 points.  Should your horse finish 2nd, you will receive 6 points.  Should your horse finish 3rd, you will receive 3 points.  Should your horse finish 4th, you will receive 1 point.

8.    Should your horse be withdrawn or be a non-runner, you will score zero points for that selection.

9.    Should players finish the competition on the same amount of points, then the prize money applicable to those finishing positions will be distributed equally.

10.    If Charterleague makes an official decision about any incident that any player objects to then the ultimate decision will be made via a vote by all players excluding myself and the players directly involved in the dispute.  If a conclusion cannot be made from this then I will cast the deciding vote.  Any decision made from this course of events will be final.

11.    100% of all received application money goes into the prize fund.  Charterleague has no desire to generate any profit from this competition this year.

12.    Any player that is expelled from the Charterleague will receive the amount of application money back that they could have gained back at the time of expulsion.  Charterleague will be very unlikely to allow that player to play again in the future, as expulsion will always be a last resort and will only be expected to take place in extreme circumstances.

13.    Players are advised to make their selection as early as possible.  If "angelfire"* is down (although unlikely), the Charterleague will not be responsible for this and although selections can be made via text message to 07963218530, players must take full responsibility for their selections.  Charterleague is of the thinking that if players care enough about making their selection, then they will make sure it has been officially recognised.  Charterleague advises its players to make their selections for the entire day before the commencement of the first race of the day.  Remember, it's meant to be fun!

14.    Charterleague cannot be held responsible if selections are not made by the suggested methods.  These being charterleague@mail.com or by text message to 07963218530.  Selections can be revised if the player can prove in a definite fashion that they made every attempt to select via these methods.
